    Hey guys. Im new to this forum site, but not to my car. I've had my 2000 GT since 2007 and this is my first time upgrading to an aftermaket air intake kit with cone filter...car currently has 135,700 miles on the clock.

    Installation went as smooth as can be with no issues. I made sure everything was installed the way its supposed to be without taking short-cuts. I made sure everything was complete and plugged in before turning the car back on. The car performed perfect with better mpg for the first day, then...check engine soon/cel light came on. "temp air sensor" comes up for the code on ODBII. How can I fix this issue even though this isnt hurting my engine??? Is there an aftermartket sensor? Do I need to tune the cpu? Any other suggestions, please?

    Look up the code and figure out why the car threw it.

    It should have some sort of diag chart you can go down.

    You might have damaged the IAT when removing or replacing. Make sure its firmly plugged in.

    The code said the temp air intake sensor has high input. Another guy just said make sure the sensor is facing the correct way.

    The stock airbox is set up to draw cool air that gets forced in through the fenderwell. In your set up you have the filter hanging right over the hot exhaust crossover pipe. The intake air temp sensor is probably reporting that the intake air temp is too high....probably because it is. You're actually losing efficiency here because even if the filter is less restrictive, you're pulling in much hotter air. You need to move that thing out to the fenderwell so it can draw cool outside air, not hot underhood air.

    I don't see anything wrong with your setup either. Having the filter in the wheel well is ideal, however, a lot of ppl on here just put the filter directly on the throttle body. Maby the AIT censor is damaged? Try unplugging your battery for 1/2 hr. to reset your PCM.

    Actually if I understand it right, warm air is better for fuel economy.. Cold air makes more HP. Also, I run a set-up VERY similar and dont get the SES code...

    My setup looks almost identical.

    I get no codes from it.

    His setup is just fine. Its got to be your IAT sensor.

    make sure its plugged in, if it is, go buy a new iat sensor, they cost like 10 bucks.

    I'm going to get a new sensor and try this first. I would like to note: my last visit to the shop having some work done on my radiator, the sensor did throw the same code after i got home a couple months ago...with my stock box setup. I ignored it and cleared the code then the sensor never came back on til I installed this new kit. I hope it's the sensor damaged. I will try this and let you all know what I find out. Thanks!

    Alright, guys. I replaced the sensor, then cleared the code. I've driven over 50 miles so far since yesterday and no cel! I believe we have it accomplished. I'm also getting 30mpg at 70 mph! Loving it!
