Hey Guys, finally bought a GTP after wanting one forever. Its a 04 with leather in really good condition, not worn out or cracked. When i drove it i loved how soft and comfty that are, but now that i drive 35 minutes one way, after 15 minutes my middle back is killing me and i cant get comfy. Im 6'4" and even with the seats all the way back and leaned back with about 5 inches from the rear seats, my heads still inches from the headliner. Has anyone done anything modification wise to there seats? It seems there designed goofy and you cant even lean your head back against the headrest w/o staring at the sky. I can deal with being so close to the headliner but i really dont want to get rid of this car due to hurt my back...

I dont know how the 04 seats work exactly but on the 97-03s there is a lumbar support button that inflates or deflates the mid-lower back section of the seat. Should be a button on the side of the seat somewhere. I know if thats super inflated itll give you a backache super f'in fast on the 97-03s.

Possibly a Bonneville SSEI seat swap is in order?

Or perhaps the Cadillac bladder system?

97-03 had lumbar as an option? I've never seen this..... show me.
04.. it's a GP, they are designed to hurt you. Should have considered the Regal or Bonneville.

My '03 had a power lumbar.

    Where were you at dinoguy?

Edited with food for thought, my '98 bare bones GT had a crank manual lumbar support as well.

I'm as far away from a GP as possible when it comes to seats. Unless you are talking 90-92 TGP with the super seats.

My 04 seats are comfy as hell, much better then my 01 was. But I do agree there is less headroom for some reason and im 6'0 like theres only an inch that seperates my head from the roof.

I have it on my 2000 GTP... Small button switch next to the seat control, one direction inflates, deflates, the other moves the lumbar support up n down . But I agree the stock seats are... Lacking, lol. Think I'm gonna swap out for some Caddy seats in future.

I sat in a base 04 Grand Prix with leather seats and they were much more comfortable than my 98 full packaged one. The sides actually tuck you in and you get a deeper seating. Plus the leathers softer than this plastic leather we 97-03 get. I know that mine has full control and yours does too. Try adjusting the lean height and lumbar till you find the correct spot. Took me forever to find the right spot and every now and then I have to red adjust it

Its weird cause ive heard everyone praise the 04+ seats. I have the lumbar adjustments but it just doesnt fit right, maybe the center sections too flat. Soemone mentioned the bonneville seat swap, is that a adventure in itself or is it a common swap people due here?

You'll praise the 04 seats if your ever driven a 97-03 those seats are terrible lol. Bonneville swap will probably just require making your own seat bracket I don't believe will bolt in just as is.
