Hi, got an a/c problem that maybe someone might have a solution for. Wife hadn't used the a/c for a week since it was cool, I took the car last weekend and the a/c was blowing warm air. Took it to my neighbors to put the gauges on it and check the freon and pressure levels, all was ok and it was full of freon. Compressor runs fine, no noises or rattling. I checked the climate control switch and it seemed to be working alright. The actuator that changes where the air comes out, floor, dash or defrost was working. I am thinking that there might be a blockage between the evaporator and the blower but I'm not sure. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Sounds like a pain!! Thats what I figured, I dont think this is something I want to get into pulling the dash apart. I bought an inspection probe camera, thought I might be able to look down one of the vents to see if I could see anything blocking the door. Thanks

Blend doors arent super bad. You shouldnt have to tear the whole dash apart.

not really that hard to do, the driver side is tight tho. pass side is easy as pie. the how to. http://www.grandprixforums.net/blend...ent-21941.html

is one side cold and the other warm? if so you only need to change the one thats acting up.

Both sides are warm. Is the blend door actuated by vacuum?

no they are power by a small electric motor inside that part thats broken. sometimes they just freek out and quit working, or inside a gear breaks or strips.

if you go a head and take the old one off, you can turn the knob by hand, and put he actuator back on to hold it in place. pass side is easy place to play with it. and get a feel for what you have to do on the drivers side semi blind.

you can also take it off the hvac box, leave it plugged in, and turn the heat up, and then down to watch it move or not, it only moves a small amount too, 1/2 inch each way.
