I googled, but couldn't find the best type of fluid to use for diffs. Also, is there a good how-to out there for my 98 GTP? Thanks guys.

    You mean transmission?

The dipstick says to use dexron 3, you can use either dexron 3 or dexron 6, the newer version.

Well, I feel dumb. I thought there would be something on the rear other than just bearings. Is everyone using Dex3 or Dex6?

Thanks guys. I got this car with 140k but had a new motor and tranny (5k miles) in it. Trying to shore up all the other things that could cause me problems.

Dex 6 supersedes Dex 3 and can be used in all prior Dex applications where 3 was specified or accepted.

If you read the data sheets on Dex 6 vs Dex 3 you wouldn't have any doubt as to which one to use...though EITHER will work in your application.

The only downside to Dex 6 is the price. it's about 2 to 3 times that of Dex 3
