SO WHAT HAPPENED NEXT? this is like reading a great book. I just finished a chapter and now I NEED to know what happened next! Did the axle get repaired and is it right? Did you have to ride your bike in the snow? Arrrgh! Im dying to see this thing in action.

Dude, you get a permanent stainless steel powder coated man-card for this when it's done. I bet you could even get some mod shops to 'chip in' for some of the final electrical issues and what not.

    Good luck!

(hmmm... wonder if I could get a 6 speed getrag in my 04 and change it to RWD at the same time.....)

As far as the axle, I'm still waiting. I was able to borrow a friends truck for a while, but now I am back to my bike. I am pretty upset that it is taking so long to get my axle.

I heard back from RCV Performance. Everything is going fine, and I will have the axle within a few days.

$264 shipped, and that was just the shaft. I still had to use the joints off the factory axle.

It cost me about $3000. Now that I know what works and what doesn't, and if I could find some parts used, I think that it could be done for around $2000.

$2000 eh???? I think I may def invest in this, I have a beater car as well while this goes through. If I took off work for a week how long do you think this would take?

Also you think I could use some other manual transmissions? Any suggestions? I want one that would be good for performance, not sure if the G6 6 speed is any good or not?

Is that the one out of the GXP

Also when you say the swap could've cost $2000 does that include the Used Trans?

$2000 will require shopping around for a long time for some used parts. I actually got my tranny new for $375 shipped. I'm not sure what trim level the tranny is out of.

I just found this post. THAT is amazing. I have been involved in creative engineering and as fun as it sounds at first it can make you loose your hair. Get some videos. Did youget better fuel milage or performance from this swap? That was way cheap for a new trans.

Somewhere around here there is a video from the inside of the car. When I find it I'll edit the first post I made and include a link to the video.
