Have a quick question. Anytime lately the headlight and tailights are on. The DRL part hasn't been working for about 3 years, but now the lights are on, almost like the twilight sensor has gone out. It's a 99 GT.

You can do that, but every once in awhile it might squeal at you.

There is a heatsink behind the panel on the drivers side of the dash.

Its covered by the door when the door is shut.

I genuinely suck at explaining things... i know there is a writeup somewhere...

Only probly is that they will not automatically turn on but I've been dealing with this for about 2 months and its not that bad.

Gotcha. That guy is super knowledgeable on the GP wiring. I'm glad his website is still online after all this time.

My problem is the twilight feature is on continuously. Don't care that much on the DRL stuff.

if you pull the DRL fuse your headlight will be off all the time unless you turn the switch to turn them on

automatic headlights a re the stupidest thing ever invented if your headlights are on during the day time you look like a women and your carr looks like trash

I think its illegal if your car is equiped with DRLs that you disable them but to be honest I know there are GPs that Ive seen from like 97 and 98 that dont have them so a cop probly wont hassle you for that. Someone will correct me if I messed up the years.

Dude the photoconducter in the dash is the twilight. I know that first link has a link to that.

    Read dude... http://www.backinblackgp.com/DRL_TS_Kill.htm

For the 1997 Grand Prix, you can quickly disable the automatic headlamps by replacing the photoresistor in the dash at the center base of the windshield with a fixed 470-Ohm resistor. —>

its not illegal to disable DRL its agenst GM company policy to disable a safety feature and they will not do it for you at the dealship unless you have a written letter from the CEO of GM saying they may disable that feature for you
