Here is my Tech Tip How To on installing the Performance Switch on GP's that do not have it installed.

I hope this helps ya! Also IF you have the GTP DIC, the one that has the Boost Gauge meter graphic on it, you will have the Performance Shift option inside of it. NOT all DICs have this. Only the ones with the Boost Gauge meter on it generally have it. I can not say for the rest.
There are many options on how you may want your PS to work. ie Toggle Switch, Full time mode (grounded on permanently), or finding a used Shifter with the PS button in it. My write up helps you to get the PS working in your car, the way you engage it is upto you. :th_thumbsup-wink:
Re: performance shift and TCS
Don't forget that sometimes you have to turn the PS mode on with a tuner too. If it doesn't have the correct settings in the PCM then it won't work even with the knob.
Re: performance shift and TCS
Out traction control is not a full out constant on system Only works up to 20 or 25 MPH after that it disabled until it is back at 20/25 mph.
IT is nice in some spots but if you learn to drive most of the time it is better to have it off.
I always drive with it off and pref shift on.
Also pref shift in long run can be thought of a tranny saver. Why? Quicker shifts thus less stress // Heat on clutch packs. Why shift kits are so nice too.

That was in the write up at the bottom of the Tech Tip ;) :th_nanana:
Re: performance shift and TCS
I have a 2002 gtp and mine has the performance right on the shifter I even have a tuned PCM
Re: performance shift and TCS
the only beef i have w/ps is I have long steep hills here..you cant down shift fast enough to slow down. But if I'm highway driving..i leave it on. The PS is really hard on my brakes trying to slow the beast down.

I installed the ZZP Tc off module, automatically turns off the Tc on start up.

Re: performance shift and TCS
I've tested my MPG with and without Performance Shift on and it really is no different. However it is more fun to drive with it on, and it's better on the trans. so I leave it on all the time.

x2 Here. You can really tell a diff when you go to pass someone and it's not on.
Re: performance shift and TCS
O and on Pref Shift on 01+ gtps.
It is engaged at wot by the pcm.
if you want to add a switch Pin #21 on one the pcm connectors if i remember right. Just needs to be grounded out and you have to add the wire as it is not there.
