So today some jag off pulled out in front of me and I had to slam on my breaks and swerve out of the way to avoid a accident, in that process I went to honk my horn and I got no sound. Thinking I just might of not heard it I waited till I got home and tried to honk my horn again and still got nothing. Any thoughts? Oh also when I lock my car the horn sounds but it is very very faint. You need to basically be next to the car and listening for it in order to hear it. Thanks for the help in advance!

Lulz^ Either you have a bad horn or maybe a bad clock spring. Or as mentioned above, yell out window.

I had the same problem with my GP not too long ago. It started with the faint lock sound then eventually just all together quit working. How old is your GP? The horns may be starting to go (sounds like they're pretty much gone). Check fuses first, then check for shorts in wiring but if they're all good then it's probably the horns. The horns start to corrode and the mechanical internals freeze up. I had a hell of a time trying to find horns for a decent price that were OEM (or at least sounded OEM). I finally found some on amazon for about $30 a pop.

Orrrrr just do what I used to when I had my 78 Cutlass Cruizer in high school which was hook up a speaker to my CB and secure it behind the grille out of the way of rain and snow and then press the out button and enjoy yelling at people while they try to figure it out.

Lmfao all these responses are great to read!! But on a serious note I have tried switching all the fuses and making sure all my connections were tight, I have a 04 grand prix so it looks like it is time to get a new horn

if you have some wires laying around run a wire from the neg and pos to the horns 2 contacts, if it dont go off, then the horns dead, if it does your issue could be in the steering wheel. horn ground popped out or something like that.

For what ever reason, my horn does not work until after I hit the thing about 10 times in anger. After the 10th time, everything is good and it's going to toot..toot.

But by the time it decides to speak up, typically the douche bag has driven away and the moment has passed...lol
