    Hey Guys,

I am wondering if a dual exhaust off of a 1999 grand prix (not sure on the model) will fit on my 2003 gtp. It will be replacing a whole exhaust from the cat back.

If someone could let me know if it will be a direct fit, it will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    kevin

All the dual outlet catbacks...97-03...coupe or sedan...they are all the same.

    Have at it.

None of them provide performance on this platform until you hit high Hp numbers. My slp powerflo sounded great with a resonator.

Am i the only person that likes the true factory sound of the Grand prix's ? lol. I have the U bend delete with headers and an aftermarket resonator that my exhaust shop put in and and in my opinion I think it sounds fine. I've done exhaust's on V6's in the past and always at a WOT it get's raspy. This is why I sink my dollars into my V8's exhaust's.

I like the way my GT sounds with Flowmaster 40's and no resonator.

Get 04+ exhaust that already has the U-bend removed. Practically the same catback, uses same hanger positions, and yeah. Walker Super Quiets as the muffs (according to Rock Auto as a OEM replacement.)

    And smile it's Blacktooth Grin!

Flowmaster.. Cheap but if done right can be great for the price .. Everyone hates on flowmaster too but for the money not bad I just do not see paying a grand for a Borla. Mind you my friend has had a Borla on his Firebird for 9 years now and it looks the same now as it did the day he bought it which is impressive but the hole in the wallet sucks.

Keep it stock 2003stivGTP and do what NegativeOne13 said.. Just add some headers though, so worth the money on that mod.

Um the ubend isnt in the cat back, its after the cat in the downpipe.

You see the hangers and the flange with the bolts in it, the cat back starts after the flange.

What's funny when I took my GTP into the exhaust shop to have the resonator repaired because i blew the old one out. And my buddy was like " dude you have to replace this U-bend it's restrictive" Best 11dollars ever spent haha. I still wonder why GM put that stupid thing in there.

You wouldn't if you drove behind it at different throttle levels.

    I had that.

    Sounded like total ass.

wow this all brings me back to the day's when I bought my first car a 1995 firebird 3.4L V6 and put a flowmaster and on a 5 speed. Man did that sound terrible and the worst raspy growl ever at high RPM shifts.
