I am an alcoholic and this is my first post. Just kidding!!
I drive a 2002 GT. THe engine would stutter and the tach would drop out to 0 and the trac off light would come on. This happed last summer and I came onto tthis site and found it was very helpful in determining the cause. It turns out to be the CPS (crankshaft position sensor). The part is cheap, from what i remember its about $85, but unless you have a lot of time and specialty tools you might be better off taking it to the shop. I took mine to a garage to get new tires and brought along the part to see if they could put it in because you need to pull the Harmonic balancer off the crank (trying to remember what i read). Anyways it would up about 2 hours labor and I was completey satisfied cause i could not have done it myself in my garage with my tools.

I had the puller but the way I saw it it was really hot down here for weeks on end 100 or better for 65 he could do that and I would not sweat my butt off and instead could be in my airconditioned living room finishing up my wainscoting with the TV on
