anyone use the elm bluetooth adapters before? When I plug mine in all that lights up on the leds is red and nothing else. I did a little search and I think it is supposed to go green for bluetooth.

I thought it would be plug and play but i can't seem to pair it with my phone. any ideas?

u pair it to the phone by plugging it into the car and then searching for it with your phone correct? because mine wont pick up. There is just one red led that shows on the adapter itself when plugged in

Mine took a while to connect the first time. The red light lets you know it's getting power.

I have had two of them. First one lit up but would never pair. It would even show up as available to pair with but when you tried to connect it would just sit at connecting until it timed out. Maybe you got a bad one.

seems like the range while connecting has to be consistent Ive noticed I can connect well and than as I walk to engine bay it will grow as far as delays but even though I can get reading standing in front of the car to connect it has to be within about a yard and sometimes than its a lil figgity Id make sure you got no other strong signals going ie a powerful wifi router or modem. Try it the next time you stop at the gas station and make sure you go through and install the proper pids and than reinstall the program before trying to connect

At this point im jus tryin to get it to pair. there is nothing special you have to do right? I assumed it was just plud the obd2 adapter into the car and u should be abe to search for it with your phone using bluetooth.

it doesn't come up for me
