First post here, so be gentle. I have a 00 GTP coupe and I have the typical lower intake manifold leak. My question is two part: do I need to tune if I replace the LIM with the ported one offered by The WBody Store, add a plog and the ceramic coated crossover pipe and a CAI or can I run the stock PCM to support those mods? Also, I know the ported LIM is set up to run an IC, but is it okay to run it without an IC? I thought I'd do these few mods now since I have to fix the leak and get the car to run a little better. Any input and/or suggestions is much appreciated. (And yes, I know how to work the search button here but I haven't found anything regarding this specifically. I've been researching on here for quite some time as I plan on MAJOR mods in the spring and the wealth of knowledge and help from everyone here is awesome! This is the best forum out there )

Ported LIM won't net you any gains...if anything just have yours cleaned up and hot tanked at a machine shop if you're worried about it.

Ceramic coated X-Over is a waste of money...the throttle body is still gonna get uber hot.

PLOG is a good choice, but the downpipe is the main concern with the U-Bend.

I suggest doing just the 3" catted downpipe or catless, based on emissions...that's where you'll see most of your gains if you don't want to buy headers off EBay (Speed Daddys).

More so...just click the link in my signature and learn, learn, learn.

Trust me, I have your "Safely Modding" sticky saved to my favorites and that has been my bible and source for research. Here's what I am doing in the spring: IC, ported SC and TB, headers and Borla exhaust, tuned PCM, front and rear brake upgrade, new suspension, etc etc etc. I just wanted to know what I could do now since I'll be in there anyway repairing the LIM leak.

    Gotcha.

I'd honestly just replace the LIM gaskets and what not unless you have the IC and ported blower. You're on a stock valvetrain so I wouldn't worry about a ported TB anyways...it's just gonna skew MAF readouts and you'll need a custom tune for that. Also, if you PLAN on headers I wouldn't waste your money or time with a PLOG/X-Over/DP setup.

If you plan on MAJORS MODS in the spring, don't waste your time now. Buy all your parts over the winter (every single part you want) then come spring, install. In the meantime just fix the LIM gaskets (4-5 hrs) that will give you a good sense on whether you want to tackle the mods yourself in the spring or not. What are your MAJOR plans anyway?

This is what I got out of it but it is pretty vague:

IC, ported SC and TB, headers and Borla exhaust, tuned PCM, front and rear brake upgrade, new suspension, etc etc etc

Thank you, sir...that's all I was looking to find out! I'm sure I'll have a few tech questions later on before I begin to purchase parts.

Also from personal experience I can attest that with a opened LIM for an IC you will lose a lot of top end power if there is not intercooler there.

Only thing I would do to a LIM if I wasn't intercooled would be to port match the LIM runners and the cylinder heads.
