hey guys im a little confused.. i used to be getting the p0420 code and i reset the code twice and since then (about 2 weeks) it hasn't gone on again. today after i drove my it i decided hey lets put my obd II scanner on and see if anything comes up. I end up getting the p0171 code. Are these two related in any way? ik the p0171 may have something to do with the up stream o2 sensor could that be the problem? and why hasn't the p0420 code gone on?

    Thanks
    Chris

Search on P0171.. they have nothing to do with each other.

    And.. 171 isn't a bad o2.

I'd start here. If you added my screen name to your search..you'd have a lot of things to check into very quickly.

The way I see it is ..if you have a problem and you can post on something that is this well documented, you can search.

Honestly?? you searched here, "P0171" and "BillBoost37"? Just tried.. is going on here? it's giving me no results. Hang tight man. I'm giving Nick a hard time and getting him on the case.

    Meanwhile check
    Vacuum leaks
Battery cable connections (pull and visually look at them)
    And clean your maf sensor.
