    Hi Everyone,

I havent been on in awhile - Anywho Im pretty familiar with the W-body scene, 3800s, etc. I have had a few Grand Prixs including a (2) 2005 Base Models, 2005 SE, & a 2005 GXP. I have never had nor am I really familiar with the GTP or 3800s/c. I am looking at buying a 2005 GTP as a daily driver and possibly do a few minor things with it.

I have found a 05 GTP with 125k miles on it that had headgaskets & intake gaskets replaced on it at 90k. The car is very clean and decently priced. I guess I just have general concerns as far as maintenance with the Super Charger, if there is any common issues with the superchargers, and anything in general I should be aware of or look for with any common issues for the GTP?

I am going to look at it tomorrow (sunday) or Monday. Just want a little insight on them. Also should I expect similar fuel economy with the GTP assuming I drive it similiar and not hard on it?

    Thanks in advance.

if you have the chance take the sc belt off and give the sc pulley a turn or two to check play most commonly the couplers go out but its easily noticed and fixed . aside for that superchargers are pretty low tech 3-4 components and maybe 3-4 bearings and all pretty easily accessed
I'm sorry officer I didnt know I couldn't do that

I would only be worried if the car was modded.

MPGS will vary always, depends on where you drive and how, but seeing mid/high teens in the city and 26-30 freeway is around avg for most and total avg of 25ish is common. Just run the 91+ octane like it needs.

The car is stock with 130k miles on it. It is a lady that owns it - she is the 2nd owner and has owned for about 4 years. 3 years ago around 90k miles it had some issue and a dealership replaced the headgaskets/intake gaskets. Which to me seems like a good thing because they seem like common issues. So I dont think I would have to worry about having to do them for awhile.

Headgaskets are not common unless modded and racing.

Thats would put me off from that particular vehicle.

Also ask what gas she uses.
