so i barely ever used my air conditioning, i just roll my windows down even when its below freezing outside haha (i just love the fresh air i dont care if its cold lol). but my mom refuses to be in a car without the air conditioning on....i was driving around with her yesterday and she couldnt take it because the air conditioning wasnt working. there was barely any cool air and the only cool air coming out was from the vents all the way on the passengers side next to the door. all the other vents were blowing warm air. i honestly could care less about the air conditioning haha but i do need to drive my mom around sometimes so i do need to fix it. any ideas on what the problem could be? thanks guys

    Would you say
The blower motor wasn't blowing at the proper speed?
The delivery of where the air was coming out of the vents was incorrect for what was requested?
The AC itself did not appear to be functioning and cooling any of the air being delivered?
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

the blower was fine and so was the delivery to the correct fans. the AC was barely cooling any air. the only air that felt somewhat cool was the air coming out of the right passenger vents on the dash closest to the passenger door. and that wasnt really that cool either. all the other vents were blowing warm air

Sounds like you may be low on freon or have a blend door issue.

If you have AC gauges available you can monitor the pressures and see if it appears to be low on freon. You could also try and view the blend actuators while moving the controls from say full hot to full cold (give them about 45 seconds to move fully). Those would be the first couple things I'd check over.

I have gauges here if you don't have any available.

i swear im the luckiest SOB today haha....my uncle was over visiting my grandma and he is an A/C guy who is also extremely handy with cars. he had his van with all his equipment and i asked him if he could check it out. he filled it up with freon and it is all fixed. thermometer that he put in the vent while leaving the windows open read 57.2 degrees when he was done. now my mom will definitely be pleased when shes in my car haha

Ehhh if I put it on the gauges..I wouldn't have hit you much for some freon. I have a 30lb tank that I bought a while back.

I spent the money on it a few years ago. Why not give out good pricing, like I got on it at the time?
