I replaced the dog bones on top and engine is still moving back and forth and getting vibration. Has anyone replaced the bottom and the tranny mounts? Any tricks or pics that can be shared? I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty. Just did the lower and upper ball joints on my 4X4 Dakota. My GP has 184K for mileage.
    Thank you,
    Patrick

Well just got done replacing the tranny and the lower motor mount. Not as bad as I thought. I thought it interesting that it says on the oil pan, " Use wood block to raise engine here" actually molded in the oil pan. Vibration is gone now. I didn't need any special tools either. Just 15mm open closed wrench, socket, and a jack and a 2X4.

I didn't hear from anyone on any tips. So I took my time, figured out what worked, what wasn't, and adjusted thinking to get it done.

I just replaced the engine and transmission mounts on my 2000 Pontiac SE 3.1L. In order to get the top 2 nuts off the motor mount, I had to take the 3 bolts off the engine bracket. Then, by jacking up the engine, I was able to move the mount /bracket enough to be able to remove the top nuts, slide out the bracket, then the engine mount was easy to remove.
To replace, I put the new mount in place, attached the engine bracket with the 2 end bolts(loosely),leaving the front bolt off until later.
I then lowered the engine/bracket on to the mount enough to get the nuts on. Put the bottom nuts on as well. Now you can tighten up the top 2 nuts on the mount, put in the 3rd front bolt on the bracket, and tighten all 3 bolts. Lower the engine, and tighten up the 2 lower mount nuts . This was the only way I could get the top nuts off. Hope this helps as I was helped by reading other info. Posted.
