Took a look at a friends 08 Imp as he was complaining of a clicking sounds coming from the dash area. What I found is that if you put the drivers side climate control all the way down in the cold range the clicking seems to be coming from what I think is the blend door actuator. I was upside down under the dash so I could locate the clicking and it's a small black module that is screwed to the side of the airbox.

I did notice however that if you move the temp. selector up 2 notches the clicking does not happen. Owner said that when the clicking starts it will eventually stop after a bit of driving around. I suspect that bumps/vibrations allow it to finally move all the way into the cold area.

Is this more indicative of a bad blend door actuator (the part that was clicking) or something else causing the issue. While I was underneath listening to it click away it almost sounded like plastics gears popping, like it was stripped or something? Any help here would be great as I've never dealt with this particular issue.
