I had been having a problem with the dic and radio dimming and today my gtp started ticking like a clock... sounds like its coming from the center of the dash, does not change with acceleration, a/c, turn signal, hazards or anything else. ticking still occurs when i have the key in the first position and when the car is running. any ideas?

Could be a blend door actuator going bonkers. Do you have dual climate control?
It's a CUMMINS Dodge not a Dodge Cummins

I feel like this is the only answer I give here. I'm 95percent sure your ignition switch is starting to fail

it does seem to be related to the air conditioning. sometimes messing with the air conditioning seems to start / stop the ticking

Take the dash panels off, the ones that are underneath the dash. Turn the car on and isolate the ticking, it will be coming from one of the actuators. Replace actuator that is malfunctioning.

They are a PITA to change, but it is what it is! Good luck.
