The resonator on my 04 grand prix has holes and the check engine light came on. I want to fix with low cost options and the rest of system looks ok. Can I just remove and replace the resonator only? Any advice, thx

Put a straight pipe or a glasspack in there and be happy

Yep, very simple, just cut out the resonator out and replace it with either pipe or a glasspack. If you just put pipe in when you get to higher rpms itll get raspy and if you put a glasspack in itll make the overall exhaust note louder. What code did the CEL read?

i picked up a glass pack for 22 bucks, bought a flange to mount to the cat, cut one tube off, welded the new flange on, and put it in.

if you still have all factory pipes still you will need to have it welded in. mine was all replacement pipes, so i was able to unclamp the old res, and clamp in the new one. 2.25 i/d pipe.
