Wondering if I could get some help from you fine people on GPF.net?

I've noticed for quite sometime now that there is a whining noise coming upon acceleration. It seems to get louder the higher RPM you go. I have also noticed this on several other Grand Prix too so I'm wondering what the #1 problem is.

Transmission was just rebuilt about a month ago, the whining noise has been there for much longer, years. Is this the case of low power steering fluid or something on the engine itself? I will check the power steering fluid tonight.

Just wondering what the solution to most of these whining Grand Prix's has been.

    Thank you!

No supercharger just the stock 3800 series II. I wanna say it makes the whine when the transmission is in park. I'll verify this tonight though. I am not completely sure if the torque converter was replaced.

I just went out and checked and the fluid in the power steering reservoir is good. I want to say the noise is more when its colder out, does this make sense to anyone?

take a good listen for where its coming from, the power steering pump could be whining even though its still working well.

any good trans shop changed the t converter, its just dumb to reuse it. but the trans pump could be whining as well, you would hear that more from the driver side of the engine. and will usually whine with the engine rpms.

I just called the transmission shop who did the rebuild and he said they DID replace the torque converter. I brought up the whine sound to him and he thought it might be in the torque converter, he wanted me to stop in next week so he can take it for a drive with me with. It's a highly reputable Tranny shop so I'm not too concerned.
