    Hey

    I have a 2005 grand prix gtp comp-g
    150000 kms

Whenever i move from a stop such as a stop sign or a red light i hear a pop sound coming from the front of the car, i can feel it in the peddle as well. I recently changed the control arms on both sides. I thought maybe a caliper was sticking but i have no other symptoms of that. Any ideas?

Sounds like strut mounts to me, I had the same symptoms and new mounts fixed the issue. The other thing it could be are the motor/tyranny mounts but mine only popped when going from parkto drive. Money on the struts though

Moog is great, I think the other company it buy from is KYB for the mounts. If your struts are bad too then I think its cheaper to buy a whole preassembled strut than it is to get a strut and mounts separately. I don't think replacing just the mounts is all that bad really, just time consuming on stubborn nuts.

My front struts are good, but im pretty sure they are going to be an issue within the next year or two so i was just going to replace them now. Do i have to remove the strut to remove the strut mount? If so i might as well get whole new assemblies for the front.

The mount holds on the spring and strut. If they're going to go out may as well replace them while you're in there. Like I said I think it's actually cheaper to get the preassembled strut/spring/mount.

Hey, so i looked for a good pre-assembled strut and could not find anything that looked like it would be an "upgrade" so im just going to replace the mounts and maybe do the strut/spring next year. Should this be good and have everything i need?

I got the Monroe mounts off of rock auto and got them on saturday so I couldn't really tell you much about them other than they went right on without any hitches.
