Just got my overkill pcm today and put it in and my car wouldn't start. Used aeroforce scan gauge to do that new pcm install thingy and car started and run fine even noticed some power difference and my red line was different BUT the rev limiter is still the same and I still have 5kr... Had 5kr before the install and after. Its like I only have half of the tune working... Is this possible? Should I just go to a gm dealer and have them do a relearn program for the new computer? Like I said I can tell a difference with the new pcm but its not all there. only thing I didn't like about this computer is now I have a old looking corroded pcm instead of my new clean one... Overkill could at least clean these things lol.

You can do a crank sensor relearn with the Aeroforce. Most of them (except maybe the first one) will do it.

Your 5KR is likely something mechanical like plugs etc and not a tune related issue.

I read on thier site that it could take a couple days for the computer to lean everything. Lol my gauges just stopped working to... Not happy about that.

Got my overkill pcm today, do I need to go to a dealer to have them program it to my car or can I just plug it in?

You just plug the thing in... would probably be wise to have a tuner/scanner available before you go hard with it too much though... Will does good work but every car is different, with different mod levels, and you never know when you might be knocking a little.

He should've sent you a little packet with the pcm, read it and understand it... it tells you all you need to know.

You have an aeroforce right? 05CompGman has a similar issue that he's found a work around for. He waits for the Aeroforce to power up, then unplugs is and plugs it back in. Seems like one of the issues Aeroforce had where they suggest changing the data rates or something like that.

I have a aeroforce scan gauge, whats the relearn thing on there? When I first installed the computer my car wouldn't start but then I did the thing on my scan gauge for when you have a different computer and my car started.

My gauges only stopped working once since I put my aerogorce in and it was right after I put my overkill in. that was yesterday and so far after that it hasn't done it again

Isn't the overkill pcm suppose to heighten the rev limiter?

I just purchased an Overkill PCM about a month ago from Will and it was plug and play, no issues at all.
I had 0* of knock before install and 0* after install, cars runs much stronger with constant smooth power!
