i have a 98 gtp and am trying to get the front o2 sensor off so i can change it.

problem is, the hex wrench i got from autozone doesnt fit it. the sensor looks just like the spark plug boot: round and metal. i got the replacement from zzp and it came with a small pack of copper goop, what is this stuff for?

Sensor should be 7/8" and there are a few tools that parts stores lend out or sell to take them out. Once out..the goop it to put on the threads of the new sensor.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Get an o2 sensor socket and use a little muscle and it should come right out. Make sure you don't get that goop on the sensor itself just the threads. Its antisieze btw so you can get it out again if you need to.
