If you're N/A you can upgrade to the metal L26 upper intake manifold.

Besides that all you need is a lower intake manifold gasket, an upper intake (or supercharger) gasket, and some RTV.

Yes N/A.. what about some performance parts I saw? I'm being quoted $825.0 for lower seals orings gaskets and upper manifold.. thoughts? The mechanic also mentioned it might be something.. I hope so.. how long can I wait to do this? Its not leaking all that bad..

Which performance parts? There are a lot of them...

In my opinion 825 is ridiculous! You could do it yourself with a basic tool set for under $200 in maybe 4 hours if it's your first time.

    Might be something....??????

This would be something you would want to do right away. Oil is getting in your coolant and coolant is getting in your oil. This can jam up the rcooling system and "dry" your oil, which reminds me, add Oil and an oil filter as well as coolant and a new thermostat to your shopping list.

most here recommend doing 2 oil changes as well as dump in a few quarts down the lifter valley to wash any coolant out of your engine.

While you're in the lifter valleys, dont' forget to change the valve cover gaskets too.

i did all of the above. i bought everything above but did one oil change. my oil was synthetic and everything i bought including a can to a paint my vavle covers red was 200 bucks. a gm dealership quoted my 700 dollars but i got the quote just to see how much money id be saving and i saved my self 500 bucks or more if you include the face that they quoted me the job without a new tstat, synthetic oil, painted valve covers along with doing the gasket job!!!. doing the gasket job probably wouldved been 900 bucks at a dealership. but i cant believe a regular shop charged you that much. very ridiculous

Labor rates aren't cheap. You may want to shop around for a different mechanic.

most shops like dealers charge the book rate for hours on a job, so if the book calls for 4 hours you are paying for those 4 hours, it dont matter it it only takes 2 hours, you pay for the 4.

the mechanics make all them extra hours too, they get paid by the book hours for each job they do, at the dealer anyways.

I wasn't expecting the negative comments.. the dealer wanted even more ithink closer to 900. and it didn't include the upper manifold or coolant elbows.. ill have to call them back and see if they can do any better. They did say it should take about 4 hours.

If anyone can do it for cheaper let me know... this isn't something I want to attempt...
