No I havent charged it up yet how long do I do that for? How long do I leave the car running
AC Delco
it shouldn't be bad just let it run for a good amount of time or just drive it how you normally would and it will charge. Let us know if this doesn't help!
Thanks for your Help Hippo Machine.
You're alternator is constantly charging the battery when your car is on, this does no damage to it. Whenever my battery is low this is how I do it...
Your car ever been jumped?
Ok I had the same problem when I changed my battery, the problem is the connection , you need to make sure the negative and positive go all the way into the posts , I mean alll the way to the bottom of the post and make sure you tighten them really good. The reason for the stutter start is that the negative and positive arent making good contact.![]()
I have them almost all the way to the bottom of the post there is just a small gap. I cant seem to get them any lower. Do you have any suggestions to get them lower. I have hit them gently on all sides and tried to wiggle back and forth but they just wont make it to the bottom. They are clean as well.
I used a flat head screwdriver then hammered around the terminals to ensure they where all the way down and I believe its a 10 mm to bolt them down .
make sure they are bolted really tight , if you see a gap or the terminal moves that means that they aren't tight enough and therefore the contact is not 100%.
Flat head and a hammer works just fine. Thanks for the advice.
