ive got this gas smell and im stumped on where its coming from, i can smeel it when i turn the car off after driving it home and open my door. its not comeming from the engine bay (i thought it was bad injector rings) it seems to be coming from the rear. part of my fuel line broke and someone put a rubber hose there with hose clamps that was leaking at one point but i tightened it done now its dry. im thinking its coming from the sending unit im gonna pop the door off in the truck and see what it looks like in there is there a seal that could have broke or something?

"Do ya feel lucky, punk?" Are you willing to take the chance over a $3.00 seal?

Let me give it to you straight. Your gas tank is leaking fumes; it's an inveritable bomb. Find the leak and fix it.

I'd just fumble around the car with a lighter to find said leak.

Agreed...gas leaks should be found, fixed and made safe.

I don't seem to share Chuck's knowledge of the tank rings leaking often, but I do know how to install them with ease. If it's that...let's get you a write up and show you how to do it the easy aka Boost way. And yes..I have one here that needs a pump/ring.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Well the pump was replaced 7 months ago before I bought the car, it was done by a hack shop though if I pop off that cover how can I tell if the rings bad? Is it obvious?

I'd sniff. If you smell gas and you smell it or see it on top of the tank..then hit that seal.
