it is a 95 gtp + perfomace package so it has the (what should be) 200 HP 3.4L DOHC V6. lately it has been downshifting 2 gears then SES light comes on for 5-10 seconds. We took the car to autozone today for a ECM scan but they told us they couldn't do it because its a 95 and the SES light isnt on. On the way home it downshifts 2 gears then the SES light comes on, when it turned off BAM, FACE TO DASH then of course..........SES.
Also the throttle body has warped in time so the peddle sticks both ways, often and very stiff, when it gets stuck open the transmission goes into whatever gear it wants(within reason) often with absolutely no throttle movement. This has been happening since we bought the car
I think that a few of problems are caused by the ECM but im not quite an expert, if you could give me some advice i would appreciate it cause i dont much want to drive the car if its trying to kill its occupants.

Not driving the car because it down shifts is irrelevant when the throttle body is sticking (very dangerous).

    Clean/repair the throttle body.
See if it does this 2 gear thing when the shifter is in manual.

Where is the nearest junk yard to you. Take the car along with the title and get your $50. JK

Yea, go to the yard and see if you can locate a TB. It'll be cheap, probably $20 or something.
