yeah the car has 172k miles on it where are the lower motor mounts on this engine?
under the harmonic balancer, lift away the splash shield if needed. and the other is the trans mount on the drivers side, the left of the cv axle
ohhh ok so theres one motor mount and a trans mount i knew where the trans mount was i just didnt know if there was 2 motor mounts, i just got my trans replaced do you think they did the mount too?
No, most likely they did not replace the mount with a new one. You might have trouble finding the solid trans mount. Be sure to ask if you do go to a place like Autozone or w/e that you specifically inquire about the non hydraulic fillid mount meaning not filled with some fluid. You want the solid mounts.
i took my car to the mechanic a few weeks ago, ALL of the motor mounts were bad. the car would shake and vibratre furiously at idle and at highway speeds. now the car runs smooth as butter. the ride was so rough before that the air filter hose popped off just from the shaking, not to mention that it also wrecked my gas mileage
im starting to get a rough idle (ive checked many other things) and now when i shut the car off i get one big shake
Yeah sounds like motor mount Oriellys and Autozone sell a solid mount thats a direct replacement for the engine for like $50, you might have to search for it though to find the right part number.
ok its wet here and i havent had a chance to get the car in the air lately but ill check to see if theres any fluid around the mount if theres not should i still replace it?
