I need to get a personal loan of some kind. I would use my bank (M & T) but they have ridiculous policies and stuff so I'm in the hunt for a better loan. Anyone have any siggestions of a good bank, site, or other to look at about getting a $4000-5000 loan? I want to try to get this done soon so I can go get the car! Thanks guys!

A personal loan will always have high fees.
Get a car loan and let the lender hold the title while you pay it off.... Fees will be much lower.

Do you know of any places that give an auto loan for a car thats 10 years old? Most places don't even let me take a loan out for a small amount of money like $5000.

If the car is at a car lot then you can do in house financing. Wich will be about 20% intrest lol....but if you pay it off quickly it could be an option i guess.

If you own a car now and depending on your credit you could get a title loan on the car you have now. May only be 500 bucks or may be 2000. depends on a cupple things.

If you have a car already a trade could be possible.

I have my grand am now which I'll probably give to a family member. The guy wants $4000 for the car. Its a 98 Daytona w/125000 miles on it but with rebuilt heads, and a bunch of stuff replaced like window motors, motor mounts... etc. I have about $2000 right now I can put towards the car (the rest towards school and savings) and i could easily have the rest paid off within 3-5 months. Thanks for the info, I'll probably call my bank tomorrow and see what kind of loan I can pull out with them or hat they reccommend.

I took out an unsecured loan with M and T bank, surprisingly, the original bank I didn't want to go thru. I qualified for a 8.7% over 60 months but did it over a 12 month loan. This baby will be paid off asap!

The payment is fantastic haha. Already paid $2000 of it off. Had to take out a minimum amount of loan though. Not complaining because I guess it could only do good for my credit to pay a large amount of cash off quick.

Actually it's just the opposite. But anyway how do you like the car?

Yea you are right, maybe I should just go easy the rest of the way. Thinking about it it's like getting those credit cards from the stores like Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.. They hurt your credit because you use them for the single purchase, pay it off, and never use the card again.

Car is fantastic so far. I've had it in drive 3 and performance shift mode for the past 2 days while driving to and from work. 71 miles total. Last night got into a 3 wide with a RX-8 and Scion TC. I killed them both, well, not so much the RX-8, but completely burned the TC. He did have a INJEN sticker on his window though, haha. I'm reluctant to say I'm glad it was a straight line because the RX-8 would destroy the GTP in almost every other category.
I'm doing all my maintenance and stuff. I know it's been done but I want my products I choose in the car. Royal Purple, etc..

    Thanks for asking!
