Ok I am running a switch for my Neons and my Radar Detector. I am going to put the switch right next to the heated seat switch and was wondering when is the "hot" to the switch hot. It is only hot when the car is on? When the key is in? Will it stay on after the car is shut off until the door is opened?

Get a test light to learn stuff like this. On another note, I would probably not tap into the switch as the wiring probably isn't going to be able to take all that extra load from the other accessories. Run a new wire.
