Both of the front door locks in my GP are not working properly. The back ones work just fine, but with the front ones it's hit or miss. Once in a while they will work, other times they will try to work, most times they do not work at all. I'm thinking it's most likely a short somewhere in the wiring, but do not know for sure. Has anyone experienced similar issues and if so how did you fix it?

    2008GrandPrix,

An issue with the door lock actuator is another possibility. I encourage you to have it inspected by a certified technician. They will be able to offer a more accurate diagnosis, and repair options, after a physical inspection.

Is that true even if it's both of the doors and not just one?

Please be more specific. Are you trying to lock them from inside? Are you using the key fob? Give a little better description.

Almost like they short out? Ik sometimes after I take the key out of the ignition and go to unlock the doors so i can grab something from the back, it doesn't work, so i will have to throw the key in quick, turn it a click to get the electricity flowing and then it usually works, dont know why it does this, happened 3-4 times since i bought the car

Mine did it right after I replaced my door speakers. It is like the doors had to relearn how to operate properly. But mine was only with the door lock switch, never the key fob. It is all fine now.
