going on down the road it runs at maybe 110 when it is really cold out stays on 100 heater does not get hot but in stop and go it will go to 210 r a little higher and heater kicks butt if it has no therm should'nt it stay in the low 100's if i direct wire the fans it never goes higher than 125 in stop and go. what is up with that????

how do you know if its 100, 110 or 125 do you have a water temp gauge? the stock temp gauge starts at 160

going on the highway the temp stays a little above 100.sitting still it will go up to 210 or a little higher and fans kick.on drove 600 miles on the interstate never got much above 100 what's up with that? thought if no therm was in it would stay in the low 100's no matter what. heater works very well in stop and go traffic not so good on a really cold morning on the highway. is it the head/intake gasket's

thats what these cars do, my regal runs at my 1/4 line all day driving, if it sits idling it will hit the 1/2 way mark, then the fans come on, and thats as high as it goes. drive it and it drops back to a 1/4.

replace your coolant elbows idk if they would cause it to run hot but they will go soon if never replaced are you using dex-cool? b/c dex-cool eats away at the gaskets and stuff my temp if all over too try and replace your tstat and see what happens

    Sorry.

But I didnt understand a single ****ing word you said.

So you are running this car with no thermostat????

The first line can be 100 or 160. The second notch up from the at 195ºish , then its 210 and 260.

If you are running this car with no thermostat, you are dumb. Put a theromstat in there.

otherwise flush the cooling system, throw a 195º thermostat in there, and bleed the air out of the cooling system and be done.

    Define hot?

You know reaching 210 is not hot right?

You know coolant wont boil till over atleast 250º right?

Fans come at 214 and 226.

Heat soaking is 100% normal when sitting in traffic.

Run a 195º thermo, bleed the cooling system of air and the car is function like it should.

You do understand that running without a thermostat doesn't allow your coolant to efficiently transfer heat right.......you are consistently circulating hot liquid...

    Wow, just wow.

Just to make sure... you are running coolant in the system at a 50/50 mix right? Running pure water or pure antifreeze actually affects your temps in a negative way. Antifreeze raises your boiling point, while water is better at heat transfer.

You trying to chip a piston? Knock sensor doesn't turn on until you hit 160*F. That means if there is a knock condition, there will be no correction for it and you will get detonation. I recommend a stock thermostat.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.
