    S&S 3800 Headers w/ WBS Install Kit

Now that i look at thses i am seriously thinking of going with these instead of the togs. I hate my pacesetters because they leak at the y and have not got them to work yet. So im done with those. period.

They have a ball and socket type fitting (no leaks) and the crossover is one peice. Thinking of just wrapping these with header wrap like Ron did.

So from those of you that have had these what do you think????

    Leaks????

And I would also be relocating the o2 bung by where the DP connects to. Also another thing that is included is a weld in down pipe.

I want em! I would buy em uncoted and paint them myself. Save $150. Now getting them installed is another question. Also wouldnt you need a tune to go with this?

Oh and what size is the down pipe? I couldnt seem to find it

Also this is a little off topic but im about 20 miles away from w body store's location, and its just one dude selling all the parts out of an office... He doesnt have a store front and doesnt sell to ppl if u come to the store... >:|

The S&S headers are alright and I would of considered them too. They seem to be nicer than the pacesetters.

Although, I have TOGs and I can't complain about them, there damn good headers. You'd definatly getting quaility workmanship for that price so keep that in mind. They were expensive, but i'm so glad I got em now. Definately opt for the 2000 degree coating if you get the TOGs.....

I like them a lot and a were going to be putting them in the 03 white limited edition gtp thats pics were just posted up. They actually look better than the slp's. If you went with TOG's you would need a dp, with these, ya don't.

Only negative thing I heard about them is someone said they turn blue...?? Only reason I believe them is because I remember seeing a picture somewhere of grand prix headers installed and they were a blueish color...

Yeah i know if you dont get the coated ones they will rust so you must be talking about the coated ones. where are these pics at now? and explain to me more about the dp.looks like it has a flange that a stubby dp would bolt up to? and then just weld a pipe from that to the catback?

Those are from JJ/his gf car.

I think the collector size on those S n S is only 2.5" unless they upgraded, the rest have 3" collectors... i'd doublecheck that though, maybe ask JJ to measure.

I can't find the pic of the discolored headers, clubgp search owns all.

Any headers that only read 1 bank on the front O2 really needs a WB if making any kind of decent power. I havent had first had experience with these but I like the 1 joint crossover design. Like any other crossover that utilizes a donut style flange I recommend putting high temp RTF on the donut coating all sides before installing it.

Every header design has it's flaws so it just depends on your taste I guess.

TOGs - blocks bell housing bolts, known for leaks when REinstalled
TOG Extreme - same issues but have 1 3/4" primaries
SLP - leaks from slip joint design, my least favorite from my experience
Pacesetter - Leaky downpipe, front header comes in contact with fans when lower mounts wear even a little, but 1 3/4" primaries
    S&S - front O2 only reads 1 bank

Yeah i plan on relocating where the 02 sensor is so that it reads both banks. And a wide band is not to far off down the road.

The pacesetters use the donut joint on the crossover correct? a donut style is the same as a ball and joint type correct? I have never had any problems with the crossover joint with the pacesetters so i was hoping it was the same style that is on the s&s. I like it because it seals on almost any angle.

Same style yes. It's just a precaution because sometimes they do leak and once they do and get tightened down a groove can be made in the donut making it almost impossible to seal. The RTV just fills that gap "if" it happens.

Ok I see. I have seen donut gaskets also, believe they were for tog's. So is that something that can be used on all ball and joint style connections or is it something just for the togs?

And can someone explain the down pipe on the S&S and how it hooks up?
