Basically for the past 2 months I would say whenever I start my car no matter if its really warm out or really cold I hear a little sloshing sound as if water is behind my dash. Then as I am making a turn it becomes louder or if im stopping a little harder then normal it is heard. At first I thought it was water but my common sense tells me that if its -25 degrees celsius and it was water it would freeze. So I am thinking its coolant of some sort but I am lost as to what it could be. i would love some input on what the possiblities might be seeing as tomorow is going to be nice I could fix the problem. My car is a 2003 gp gt. Also I thought it could possibly be the air system but my heat and ac work amazing. Thanks guys.

the issue is your heater core, bleed your coolant, top it up, bleed it again, top up, put car on an incline (ramps or jack front end) then bleed.. Heat full blast whole time..

    problems solved

So after following my parents advice and to play it safe I take the car in today to a mechanic just to get a second opionon plus I cant flush the coolant at my house anyways so they would have to do it as it is. I tell them the story as I did in my first post and we start looking around under the hood at the spots where we think the problem is from. We check the coolant levels and their ok, fans are working, not overheating. Ok what could be wrong? I say how I think theres air in the line but they disregard what I say and continue on with there search. Fair enough. The mechanic holds one of the coolant lines at the front of the engine between it and the radiator and says how it feels like bubbles and air are going through it and it shouldnt be doing that. Then we take the car it so he can test the system to see if theres any leaks in it. Well he comes back to me and says I have a blown head gasket and tells me its going to cost $2000 to fix with parts and labour when its all said and done. What do you guys think its kind of wierd that as were going through the checks he says how that can be the worst case scenario, and then says thats the problem.

I know what you mean, the mechanic my family always go to is a childhood friend of my dad, he is very honest with us and does great work. He is also alot cheaper then any other guy around. The only reason I didnt go to him is because he was busy today and the shop I did go to is across from them in the same plaza lol and they have always treated me well when I go for an oil change so I thought what the heck. Tomorrow im going to the other mechanic to get a second and honest opinion and go from there.

do what i said, jack up the front, run the car to temp, bleed the system, all while heat is on full blast.

it will let the air bubbles rise up out of the heater core.

I know. Its funny how I say the simple and cheapest option to them and they go for a full on tear down (price wise that is)

7mm socket on the bleeder valve, slowly open till it bubbles, once it starts to leak out without bubbling, close it off... wait a bit, run engine, press on the gas getting it up to about 2500rpm, open valve, if no air comes out you're done for now...

myself when i had to do this it took bleeding the system several times over days. id bleed it one day
next morning while cold, pop the rad, fill it up, bleed, bleed, wait a day, bleed lol

maybe not the right way, but i fixed it.

Head gaskets hardly ever blow on the 3800 v6 only gaskets that ever really go bad are intake and oil pan.
