Re: Replaced SC coupler, bad sounds still coming from that side of the engine
Hey dude watever ur problem is good luck w ur issue. After my lil adventure just make sure to use that red anaerobic crap to seal everything back up if u do end up using the one u took apart before. This time I also used a 16oz rubber mallet to make sure all the major parts connected up WELL. I also thoroughly cleaned the mating surfaces. I had an issue with some noise & initially thought it was the coupler. Funny since I've had the green ZZP one since '09. Wasn't the coupler. It was in EXCELLENT shape. Most of the SC oil was gone. I have no idea where the f*ck it went. Doesn't seem like it leaked out. SC gasket is clean & I didn't smell the animal fat BBQ when I would drive. Think some assh*le may have siphoned it out ;D There was a slight leak after reassembly 3 or so weeks ago but I was certain that I sealed it up. Maybe it slowly seeped out then evaporated as I drove each day. So I reassmbled everything, used the Permatex sh*t insted of Ultra Black RTV (never had an issue b4 w that), filled it up w SC oil, then let it set on top of a brick for a few hours. No leaks 36 hours later. Much less noise. Boost behavior seemed a lot better today. Maybe I had a Boost leak where the blades section connects to the other side of the rotor pack.

Is it okay for the car to run without the SC belt on? I'm hoping it's something minor that i can find out when the belt is off. Once i have my coffee and breakfast ill be out there trying to figure this out lol.

As long as you don't beat on it, it's safe to drive.

Who told you that? Why can't be beat on it? What specifically will happen if he does? About the only thing that will take place is his car being piss slow when fooring it.
Re: Replaced SC coupler, bad sounds still coming from that side of the engine
Hey where's the belt supposed to sit on a ZZP MPS setup? IIRC belt is 6 ribs & the pulley is 8. If I try to eyeball the left part of the ICM I think & look right behind it to the belt, in order to get from what looks to me as symmetry up & down in terms of how far the belt appears past the left part of the ICM I put it right in the middle of the 8 ribs. Is that how it works ideally for u or all the way to the right???
