Has anyone thought about, tried to retrofit a aftermarket ratchet shifter to a 97-03 gp from a firebird/camaro type?? If so I could use knowledge if its handy. the stock shifter in my car is (to me) butt ugly.

That would be cool, especailly if you could get the function too. I loved my friend Road Runner with the manual valve body 727, fun as hell to drive!

That would be a really cool idea about the perf shift on the console. There was a website that offered a modification for our shifters that essentially would allow us to use a ball or whatever someone wanted to use and shift by pushing down on it. It looked cool and you could buy just the adapter if you wanted and possibly make your own shifter knob. I'll do some researching and see if I can find the site again. I should have bought one when I had the chance! I have this skull head that I could easily bore out the middle and use a tap and die possibly to use as a shifter knob on top of the adapter which would look sweet in my opinion. If I find the site and buy an adapter then I'll show everyone what I did. Sorry if I'm rambling on......

Wonder if it works for real? I wonder if a manual valve body could be put in a 4T65-HD?

If so, i'd be game! Manual valve body would be soo much fun especially with a rachet shifter. Just hit the damn knob and you won't miss a shift (and no clutch to dick with)...
