    I cant get it to shift from park what is that? and it's 15 outside

    How much would it cost to get fixed and that's the only way I can get it to shift by pressing the release button

    Oriley's has an AC DELCO neutral safety switch for $58.99
    They also have a BWD for $89.99.
    I say go with the AC DELCO.
    Replacing it should be pretty easy. If you look on the drivers side towards the firewall you can see the switch sitting on top of the tranny. Should look like this..
    it's that black box looking thing on the transmission on the bottom left hand side of the pic..

    Look up in the pic I posted above. It's held in by 2 bolts, the shifter should clip right into it. All you do is loosen the 2 bolts and pop off the shifter and it comes right off.

    No, open your hood and look towards the firewall on the driver side in the engine bay. you'll see the transmission bolted up to the engine, just take a look around and you'll see it
