I was reading an article that states ram air should only be used with a panel filter anyone know if this is true and why?

Yeah but is using a cone filter hurting the air flow and thereby engine as well, as gas mileage and performance?

    no?

It dont matter what kind of filter it is aslong as its not restricting the air flow (as in way too small and choking it)

Cone, square, triangle it dont matter.

    This is mine.

I have the same one on mine except since its ram air I have a cold air box around it with no top on it was going to put a plexiglass top on it but cot sure I see a point in it the box feeds from the fender and the ram air
