For over $2000 grand. It's a hard sell, considering you could do a turbo for close to the same monies. Plus I am pretty sure I could do an intercooled Gen V for about $900 MAX.

Why are you showing two sheets? Isn't the correction factor on the upper right of the first sheet?

Eaton TVS 1320 superchargers are a lot more efficient. Where do you get one without going broke?

Picked mine up lightly used on the Cobalt forum for $1200. Not that $1700 bucks brand new would have made me go broke.

Did some looking and there don't seem to be a lot for sale on forums 1 or 2 per year. Intense sells it for $2250. Couldn't find it any cheaper.

I sent out emails and had more than one vendor come in under 1800.
One or two per year? There was 6-10 of them for sale when I bought mine... I must have sent out a dozen offers.

As a disclaimer, I don't make a single dollar on any plate sales. I could care less if you buy a plate through me, make one yourself, buy one from someone you know or never attempt the swap.
The reasons behind vendors ignoring this are simple.

    1. Margin - ZZP makes a majority of its money based on the fact that most of the stuff they sell is on a 300% markup... A TVS blower they pay $1750 for and sell for $1800 is not worth the 20 phonecalls they will recieve before selling one.

    2. TVS install kit - They need to make and sell an adapter plate kit... this will run about $300 with the throttle body adapter, and whatever you need to adapt the stupid crap you have to move around in the process. Now you need an 8 rib kit, modular pulley system, cam, springs, timing chain, maf sensor, intake kit,

    3. Turbo kit - ZZP makes its money with turbo stuff... they make the parts (almost unlimited margin here), they make good margin on the turbos (as they are nearly 1/3 the upfront cost, the markup is easier to stomach). ZZP also is able to charge for "R and D" at this point, and sane people would actually pay it.

    4. relitive gains - You just spent $5k+ (retail) on a TVS kit and cam setup... You go to your local grand prix meet up and race some other people.... and some guy with a gen5/xpz walks you like you are standing still and left wondering why you didnt spend HALF on a z7 kit and made 400whp on 93 octane.

But he made 350whp on his tvs swap, and the blower still has more to go. He didn't need to spend a lot of time mocking up or making his own IC kit. I think all he did was relocate the Alt, bolt on the spacer and TVS, do a PCV breather and block the EGR. His N* spacer bolted up to the TVS and it works, but to be honest he would most likely need one made to better clear the brake booster. I thought he just spent $1500 on the swap, for the adapter plate and the TVS.

If he had an intercooler he could have made a top plate to adapt the blower to the existing core.

You would need the XP cam to make the same power numbers.

And once you're at 280-320+ WHP the trans is a ticking time bomb.

LOL @ GenV/XPZ car walking me like I'm standing still... I made 374whp, that XPZ car better have aluminum heads and the most baller intercooler on the market to make maybe 20whp more than me.

    SLoW SHO

So far the budget isn't working out too bad...

    TVS with 3 pulleys $1200
    Adapter plate $300
    M62 for mockup $80
    Alt Relocation $60

Sold my GenV and pulleys/MPS for $700

So far this has cost me $940. I'm pretty confident that I wont need a whole lot more as there isn't much left to do.
Don't need the m62 for mock up anymore, we know the swap works.
Basically you need the blower, plate, alt reloc, and TB adapter. Fuel upgrades are needed if not already done, depending on your goals. Stock injectors will take you to just over 300whp.

Congrats Snow! I'm glad to see the good results. Definitely a future interest for me. Do you care to share your technical info on the adapter plate?

Thanks... what kind of technical info are you looking for? I can give you the contact info of the guy who makes the plates. Other that that, it's a half inch think slab of aluminum with some holes in it lol

I was curious if you had a CAD drawing of it or maybe a technical drawing of it. In case, when I get ready to try something like this in the future, I have the tech info to take to a machinist or may try and make one from phenolic.

I would have thought the Sedan with the GenV would have put out better numbers than that considering what the Daytona did... but regardless... Nice Numbers!!!

People thought I was lying when I said the Daytona stickers added horsepower.

I like the results, certainly a viable option for some if you don't want to go with the typical setup. I just wish I didn't have to read through posts to see the information of what it made. Few more questions though.

What AFR were you gunning for on ethanol, what boost did you see with the 2.8" on the 1320, what were the temps. at the time of the dyno and how did you get E60, that's a crappy station! I'd check again in summer to see if they are really putting 85% in there, but with E70 it's around 104-105 so you are about right for octane, but the high octane level isn't the only benefit to ethanol.

As well, since E85 isn't an option for some people due to their location...maybe a thicker plate...1.5"-2" to fit a core in and intercool that TVS?

Don't see it being that hard...and since it is a physically smaller supercharger than the M90, you really wouldn't have to worry about hood clearances that some people run into with aftermarket hoods when intercooling.

    Just a side thought...
