I have a 07 Grand Prix w/ 79000 miles. I have had it for a few years now. First off i was wondering what steps do i have to go through to get the steering shaft replaced for free being that it has been replaced before?

The bigest question I have is the car is supercharged. In the manuel it does say you are to use the highest octane fuel. Up until last year i always used it I then started having some starting problems. It would roll over and i live in Wisconsin so first i thought it might be the battery because of it rolling over really slow. I then replaced the battery and it still did the same thing. I then was at a gas station needed fuel but it did not have the higher 91-93 octane. I then put at least the 89. I found that my car was starting better. I have used it since. I have never changed the spark plugs but i was told most of them are 100000 plugs i have looked at them and they are decent, the gaps aren't a huge difference. Lately it has started to chug a little and you can see the rpm jump a tiny bit and feel the car shake while idling. I am also seeing low gas mileage number. I am not sure if this would be something major or what. I just hate to take it in and pay that 100 dollar diagnostic for a bad sensor. If it is something major maybe still on the 1000000 power train then i would not hesitate but even if you are like me and can USUALLY fix it myself then i get kinda sick for paying that FEE. If anyone can help me that would be huge. A LOT TO READ!!! I AM SORRY...

Do a tune up. New plugs, new wires, Take your throttle body off and clean it really good because the DBW car love to get carbon build up on the inside and cause problems. Run some injector cleaner in the fuel. I know you have been using 89 which is ok in a pinch but the car needs to run off 91+.

Running 89 didn't make your car run better, so continuing to run it because you thought it made it run better didn't help either. Go back to 93.

Also, as suggested, clean the throttle body.
