I have an 08 grand prix with single exhaust and I am considering putting stock dual exhaust in it. I know the local junkyard has them in stock and I was thinking about going back this coming summer and offering $150 for it. Now I know I need the dual exhaust lower valence and another set of rubber exhaust hangers but what else would I need if anything to have a stock dual exhaust setup. I've looked at some diagrams and it looks like the rear bracket might be different for dual than single. And also would this be a bolt on project or will there be some more work to be done. Here's the diagram:
    Thanks for any help.

For more mods suggestions...read the link in my signature.

Other than that the dual catback bolts right up to your factory downpipe...just need a new gasket when you swap them out. But you are on track otherwise...rubber hangers, etc.

Should I just go ahead and get a brand new gasket for in between the downpipe and resonator (#5)? Is the rear bracket (#9) different since I only have single exhaust now? I take it that the #6's are the rubber mounts right?

Where did you find that diagram? I'd like to see one for a 2001 GTP. I have a flat two hole gasket leaking at what looks similar to the #5 location. Oh yeah....stock original exhaust.

Go to gmpartsdirect.com and search for your car. Go to the exhaust system and there should be diagrams to go along with the parts listings. There are many other sites like this one but that is the one I have used in the past.

I did but the gaskets are not shown....at least not the one between the convertor and intermediate pipe.

Hmm I just looked at it and see what your talking about. I'm not sure what to tell you. I guess it just isn't shown for that year. You might be able to find one on a different gm parts site, but I can't guarantee anything.

You could also find it on Rockauto, or Walker or any exhaust website and or parts place site.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Thanks...I'll check the other sites, and if I don't see it, I'll just go to a parts store and say, "Ummmm....I need the gasket that goes between here and there."
