Why are the reusable rocker arm bolts smaller then the stock TTY bolts? 5/16" vs 3/8"
I have a 1/2" torque wrench so I got a adapter to go from 1/2" to 3/8" socket size, bought a SAE 7pc 3/8" socket set that has 3/8" as the smallest socket, then after discovered the comp cams are too small for that new socket set I just bought

I think I used a 10mm socket on the stock TTY 3/8" bolts to get them off, it worked so what if I just use a 9mm socket for these comp cams?
I end up using two socket adapters to make use of the 1/2" torque wrench to get them torqued right. Hopefully that 3/8" to 1/4" adapter does not snap on me when I torque to 25 ft LBs

frankenstein might be the right term for what I am proposing

    comps don't use a socket.

they use a male hex deal

and there was a massive thread on this: extensions theoretically do not reduce torque because the torque isn't acting in the direction of the extension.

    picture alludes to it.

all round on the outside, with grooves to make them easier to thread by hand.

I thought that sounded wrong so i dug out my spare set of those bolts.

    its 1/4 hex drive socket.

    5/16 is too big.

To end this mayhem I got a 162 pc socket set for $50 that was 70% off at Canadian Tire, it has various sized hex bits. Including of course the 1/4" that I needed. I did look in the display case to see if I could just get the 1/4" by itself but did not see it. Now I have lots of duplicate pieces but what can you do right? whatever
