Hello to all. I own a 2000 Grand Prix GTP 2 door with only 61K. Great car that is basically all original. The problem is the tachometer jumps and acts crazy sometimes when we drive it. It does not effect the way the car runs at all. On occasion the TCS off light will come on as well when the tach goes crazy. I have replaced the camshaft and crankshaft sensor twice with original Delphi units and reset the crankshaft signal reference with my GM Tech II scanner. I have monitored the gauges and the cluster has no DTC's and neither does the car under drivetrain or body codes. I talked with a local GM dealer and the said it could be the ignition switch losing it's ground. I am at a loss. I have followed all the wires throughout the harness, the ECM connections, the cluster and so on. I do not want to keep throwing parts at the car but hope fully someone on here has had the same problem or can tell me where to look for it. The car is in near mint condition except for this one problem. My wife is a real Pontiac girl that just wants her car to be right. ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!

    THANKS, DON MOSLEY

    Welcome to GPF!

It could be a bad ground or a loose wire somewhere.
