So, the red dash light behind the temp gauge is out. So, I went to my local GM shop, and tried to get a bulb. They looked around and decided they aren't available. They said the only thing they could suggest was to leave the car for several days and they would do an exchange and repair the gauge cluster and the cost would be $450.00. For a dash light, Really?????????? Any suggestion where to get a bulb?

First of all the bulb is actually clear. The cluster overlay is what's red.

That dealer is full of sh*t. Take the cluster out yourself, pull the bulb and take it with you to any Oreilly's. I've bought them there before. Just stare and compare to make sure you have the correct one. Should run you between $3-$8 per bulb. Check the other bulbs while you have it out as there are multiple ones back there. Heck, it could just be loose for that matter.

Just be careful of the printed circuit board on the back of the cluster where the bulbs twist and lock in as it can be easily damaged.

Or you can bring it to me and I'll do the whole job for $225

OSRAM SYLVANIA - Replacement Guide - Start this chart always seems to be helpful when looking at bulb sizes.

Thanks FordMan, and Csssaint . The job was actually easier than you described. Now I am off to other problems.
