Re: car start problem
yea i got bolts that have bolts on the end to screw wires onto the main bolt. dont know what u call it lol. but the amp is toast so it dont matter anyways. but i noticed wen i taken the wires off that the guy who owned the car has a wire going from the positive lead directly to the alternator.... dont know why thats like that. i unhooked it and the car started up and everything fine.

Re: car start problem
It's because the battery cable runs around the motor in circles and it quite long. ZZP also sells a wire that goes from teh alt to the relay center..which is nearly the battery..but same basic effect.

Re: car start problem
but why would the car start up without that wire connected? doesnt the alternator need power to have the car run?
and why would you want this extra cable?

Re: car start problem
hey i getting a Hifonics BRZ1200.1D. and i wondering with my car battery issues if i gonna have big problems with this amp? i gonna just run it on 2 subs at 4 ohm. i got a single farad cap also that i can put on it. you think this is gonna be a bad idea? should i look into getting a better alternator? or any other options? i dont know much about amps but the guy is gonna come down and help me out next weekend.

Re: car start problem
You wont have a problem running the amp.... unless you havent solved your parasitic draw problem.

Re: car start problem
I would check your remote wire for your amp too. You basically could be leaving your amp powered up all the time if your remote wire is bad or not connected correctly.
I would still take it in to get the battery and alternator checked too.

Re: car start problem
the car battery has not drained since i replaced the battery terminal. my remote wire i have wired to a toggle switch that i always turn off wen i turn off the car also. i went threw and re wired my head unit also thinking maybe there was something going on there. but so far everything has been working fine.
so thats wicked if i can use this amp. its overkill for the subs i got but i figure its better then under powering them and i can just save some cash and buy some better subs later.
