Anybody have any experience with these? Theyre $99, so I'm kinda guessing they aren't top notch. Also, i know you dont get gains from mufflers, but would getting the stock mufflers sound better than say..flowmasters? I dont know how to get the best sound.

They aren't for shortblocks, those are longblock headers, no downpipe.

Get speeddaddys off ebay. under $200 shipped.

Headers, Glasspack where the Resonator is, and stock mufflers sounds best.

Why do you keep posting about long blocks and short blocks? That has nothing to do with what he is talking about.

Whatever you say... I guess if you get longtubes and they don't fit, you can't say I didn't tell you so.

I read wrong anyway, those are truck headers "Headers, Full-Length, Steel, Painted, Chevy, GMC, SUV, Pickup, Small Block, Pair" Summit Racing SUM-G9006 - Summit RacingĀ® Headers - Overview - SummitRacing.com
That came up when I searched for 00 GP headers.

The only headers summit sells for Grand Prixs are SLP and Pacesetters, cheapest being $369.

So what you're saying is GP headers will fit a firebird? Didn't think so...

Whats the difference? Long block exhaust ports are further apart.

    Am I wrong?

Long block and short block as nothing to do with the way an engine sits in an engine bay. Please see below.

***Edit: Below was taken from a 10 second Google search***
    Long Block Engines
If an engine was pulled directly out of a car with all the attachments, including wiring, it would be referred to as a long block. If purchasing a long block, it will be substantially more expensive than a short block.

    Short Block Engine
A short block engine is also referred to as the engine core. This sub-assembly includes the cylinder block, pulley hub, front cover and engine plates. Essentially it is a stripped engine, typically what a mechanic would service when performing an overhaul.

    Yes, you're wrong.

Long block = entire engine from rotating assembly to heads
Short block = block and rotating assembly, no heads

I never said they would fit.

Short block = bare block with crank and pistons installed.
Long block = block with crank and pistons and heads installed.

Fair enough, you made your point, I will from now on refer to what I meant as longitudal RWD 3800s if that's politically correct enough for you.

Its not that its politically correct, its the misinformation that is being spread that bothers me. I got no beef with you.
