I need some help from anybody out there that is willing to help. I was driving today and looked down at the dash and the orange engine light was on, it was solid not flashing or anything. My car runs fine or so it seems. It is a 2004 Grand Prix GT with 170,000 Kms on it. Does anyone out there have any ideas of what could be causing this? Any help would be much appreciated.

Do you have a autozone or local auto parts store around you that can scan for computer codes? Or even a mechanic friend?

Take you car there and have them scan the car for codes and it bring up a number P----, with that number you will be able to figure out what is causing the check egine light to come on. Then you will just have to replace what ever part is needed.

Umm, no? That wouldn't make it go on unless something is wrong with it.
