Thread: car will only start in N

i put a 97 motor in a 01 grand prix gt and it will only start in N the motor never did this in my 97 gt whats wrong

Have you checked if the shifter cable is moving the gear selector all the way to the "P" position? maybe it got moved, damaged or whatever during the swap.
