    hey i have a 1996 pontiac grand prix se with the 3.1L in it. when i got the car it was overheating but only when i was moving never when parked. i changed the thermostate adn waterpump to no avail. then i changed the coolant temp sensor and now within about 3 minutes my temp guage goes all the way to hot without stopping and stays there if any one can help i would appreciate it greatly.

    Make sure you didn't plug the clip in backwards on the sensor.

    the connector is in the right way but it still does it i have no clue what the problem is plus my fans dont turn on

    Did the fans turn on before you bought the new sensor?
