    Hi - I have a gp 2000 gtp with 155K miles.

The CD player now skips. All cd's skip when hitting the slightest bump. My guess is the anti-skip technology of the cd player is shot. Any thoughts on how to fix that?

usually it's the cd drive itself, once in a while I come across a few of these and build a good working one out of a few and sell them off.

never actually dissasembled the drive though to see what went wrong.

it plays fine when the car is not moving. I believe it is the anti skip technology that is part of most cd players....not sure how it is hooked up....i think its just a smalllllllll memory chip that reads ahead about 30 seconds.

Count yourself lucky. My CD player stopped working after about 100k miles. Had to do with the load mechanism.

Mine does this now too... I thought it was a poorly burned cd because I usually use the radio and just started noticing it... but I tried other cds and it still does it...

Just looking at replacing it, repairs tend to cost more than its really worth. Sux but that's just how it goes.
